Travel and Transportation
Chicago is served by two airports:
O’Hare International Airport, located 13 miles from downtown, is one of the largest airports in the world. For visitors needing information or directions, airport information booths are located on the lower levels of the domestic terminals and on the upper and lower levels of the International Terminal.
Midway Airport is located 10 miles from downtown Chicago.
Shuttles and Taxis
Both airports offer taxi service to downtown and the suburbs. Taxi Rates from O’Hare to the Hyatt downtown range from $30 to $50, from Midway: $28 to $32.
GO Airport Express provides shared ride services to all downtown and suburban hotels and many businesses. Pair fares and group discounts are available, along with customized reservations for your group.
The Chicago Transit Authority’s (CTA) convenient and easy-to-use bus and train (the “L”) lines carry you around town and to major attractions.
It’s also easy to hail a taxi to get from place to place, and during warm weather months, you can also board one of the water taxis that run along the Chicago River or lakeshore for a scenic and relaxing alternative.
