The Interior Business Center's new Strategic Plan for 2014 through 2018 is out. IBC Email Address Changes

IBC's email addresses have been updated to reflect our name change. A year ago I shared with you that the Department of the Interior Secretarial Order number 3322, "Renaming and Restructuring of the Department of the Interior National Business Center," changed our name to the Interior Business Center. We have been taking a phased and cost-sensitive approach to the transition from the National Business Center (NBC) to the Interior Business Center (IBC).

Approval of the Realignment of IBC's Information Technology Directorate and Customer Support Center

0n 09/24/2013, Congress provided approval to proceed with the realignment of Interior Business Center's (IBC) Information Technology Directorate (ITD) and Customer Support Center (CSC) to the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO). This realignment is consistent with the intent of Secretarial Order 3309 (Information Technology Management Functions and Establishment of Funding Authorities).

Pending Congressional approval, the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) will assume management responsibility for the services provided by Interior Business Center's (IBC) ITD and CSC business units.

FWS partners with IBC to Meet Prompt Payment Act Mandate

Fish and Wildlife Service partnered with the Interior Business Center in the consolidation of the bureau's regionally dispersed payment processing, greatly minimizing prompt pay interest. Within six months, the percentage of payments incurring interest went from 10% to 3%, as the backlog was reduced.

This communication is to notify you of a proposed realignment of the Information Technology Directorate (ITD) and Customer Support Center (CSC) in the Department of the Interior's FY 2014 President's Budget Request. Pending Congressional review, in the coming months the management responsibility for the services provided to you by ITD and CSC may be realigned from the Interior Business Center (IBC) and moved under the Department of the Interior's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

Interior Business Center Extends its Partnership with NASA to Innovate Federal HR Systems and Solutions

LC Williams, IBC's Human Resources Directorate's Associate Director, and Jeri Buchholz, NASA's Assistant Administrator for Human Capital Management in the Office of Human Capital Management, renewed the cooperation between the two organizations in support of supports common goals and objectives in meeting the OPM's long-term service delivery model under the Human Resource Line of Business and e-Government initiatives.
