Sean Chandler, PRINT MAKING
September 11 - November 1, 2005
As a young man Chandler's greatest influences in his life were his parents. Al, his father taught him the traditional arts such as
the tipi paintings, the parafleches and the drums. His mother Carole, encouraged his academic endeavours. Chandler's main art
medium is print making. He has participated in several shows and has won awards for his work.
Chandler describes his work as ambiguous, hidden, where the central ideas and figures are not easily seen but are delineated
by stack figures of decrepit, hideous images. Images of starvation that represent the lack of Indigenous thought, language,
spiritual and mental health overtaken by the dominant society.
