BEVERLY BIRD,
QUILTS
MAY 9 - JULY 16, 2004
Beverly Bird, enrolled Sioux for the Ft. Peck Indian Reservation in Montana, was introduced to quilt making in 1998, when her
family was preparing a memorial service for several of her relatives. In the Sioux culture, it is tradition to have a feast and give-
a-way to honor family members. Ms. Bird created her first hand-made quilt, which is featured in this special exhibition.
