American Indian Exposition
The American Indian Exposition is a major annual public event presented during the month of August in
Anadarko, Oklahoma. The Exposition is located at the Caddo County Fairgrounds, adjacent to the Southern
Plains Indian Museum. Comprising the largest tribal gathering in the State of Oklahoma, the Exposition
features a week-long program of dance contests, a pageant, arts and craftss, horse racing and parades. For

The Southern Plains Indian Museum was founded in 1947-48 through the Federal and Oklahoma State governments' cooperative efforts.
