Overtime incurred traveling to or from training, for nonexempt employees, is computed using the same criteria as other official travel time performed by them. Exempt employees are not usually paid overtime for travel to and from training. Approved training is normally considered duty time and time sheets should be documented for all temporary duty periods. An employee who receives premium pay or additional pay in lieu of premium pay for overtime, night, holiday or Sunday work does not receive such pay during periods of training, if the training is conducted outside of the employee's normal work schedule which entitled the employee to the additional pay.

If you have a question about the employee's pay status while attending training at night, on a holiday, or Sunday, contact your Human Resources Consultant.
