a. The following FOIA and Privacy Act training was provided to Department of the Interior employees during CY 1997:

- The Department and Office of the Secretary provided training to its employees in Washington, DC (May 19 and September 25); to the Washington Internet Committee in Washington, DC (August 20); to NPS employees in Philadelphia, PA (June 9), in Lowell, MA (June 25), in Olympia National Park, WA (August); to BIA employees in Albuquerque (June 16-17); and to OSM employees in Denver, CO (September 18) and in Pittsburgh, PA (September 24). The Department also provided informal training to employees in Washington, DC throughout the year.

- The Office of the Solicitor provided training to FWS employees in Portland, OR (November), and in Houston, TX (November).

- The Bureau of Land Management provided training to its employees in Portland,OR (April 1), and to the Washington Internet Committee in Washington, DC (August 20). Informal FOIA/Privacy Act/records management training is provided through "Information Management Tips" sent to all Washington Office employees and to BLM FOIA Coordinators/Records Managers every other month.

- The Bureau of Reclamation provided training to its employees in Boulder City, NV (January); in Albuquerque, NM (March); Salt Lake City, UT (March); in Sacramento, CA (June); and in Denver, CO (June).

- The Bureau of Indian Affairs provided training to its employees in Albuquerque, NM (June 16-19); in Billings, MT (April 28-29); and in Washington, DC (August 5).

- The Office of Inspector General provided training to its employees in Washington, DC (September 22), and in Harpers Ferry, WV (July 16).

- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service provided training to its employees in Baltimore, MD (March); in Williamsburg, VA (April); in Arlington, VA (April); in Sacramento, CA (April); in Denver, CO (April); in Anchorage, AK (October); and in Houston, TX (November).

- The Minerals Management Service provided training to its Royalty Management Program personnel in Denver, CO (September).

- The National Park Service provided training to its employees in Philadelphia, PA (June 10-11); in Lowell, MA (June 25-26); in Grand Junction, CO (July 9-10); in Olympia National Park, WA (August 28); and in Albuquerque, NM (September 3-4).

- The Office of Surface Mining provided training to its employees in Denver, CO (September 18), and in Pittsburgh, PA (September 24).
