Subject: Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program Classes #18 and #19

We are pleased to announce that the Department is launching the Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program (SESCDP) Classes #18 and #19. Class #18 will launch in the fall of 2015 and Class #19 will launch in the spring of 2016. The vacancy announcement for the SESCDP is posted on OPM's USAJOBS website. The announcement opens on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, and closes on Friday, June 19, 2015. The link to the job announcement is https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/404718300

The SESCDP is designed to prepare high potential employees for the Senior Executive Service (SES). Successful completion of the SESCDP results in eligibility for noncompetitive placement in an SES position. Ideal candidates are GS-14 and GS-15 with proven management, leadership, and communication skills. Participants will attend formal courses and seminars and will have a current SES member as a mentor throughout this 12-month program. There will be temporary developmental assignments that may involve organizational, functional and/or geographic mobility.

Only resumes will be required for this recruitment. Applicants will need to submit a five-page resume that outlines their possession of or potential for development in the five Executive Core Qualifications. The selection process for the SESCDP is outlined in the job announcement. Applicants meeting basic qualifications will be evaluated by an SES rating and ranking panel. Based on application materials provided, best qualified applicants will receive an interview. The number of candidates selected for the program will be based on the overall need of the agency.

We will be offering six one-hour webinars to provide applicants with information on how to prepare an ECQ-based resume:
