The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative , or EITI, is a global standard that promotes revenue transparency and accountability in the extractive sector.

The U.S. began the process of becoming an EITI compliant country in 2011. This involves forming a Multi-Stakeholder Group Advisory Committee (MSG) and submitting a Candidacy Application. Click here to learn more about USEITI.

THE USEITI MULTI-STAKEHOLDER GROUP ADVISORY COMMITTEE

EITI ProcessThe MSG is convened as a Federal Advisory Committee (FACA) and is comprised of 21 primary members and 20 alternate members from government, industry, and civil society. The Committee will provide collaborative and consensus-based oversight of USEITI implementation and act as a forum for consultation among EITI stakeholders.

There are currently vacancies on the MSG. If you would like to nominate someone, the nomination period is open from August 16th – September 30th. Click here to view the Federal Register Notice.
