The April 2010 Deepwater Horizon (DWH) oil spill set into motion the largest natural resource damage assessment (NRDA) in history.

Since the April 2011 landmark Early Restoration agreement between the DWH NRDA Trustees and BP, the Trustees have worked diligently to begin restoring the Gulf of Mexico prior to completion of the natural resource damage assessment. Based on BP's commitment to make $1 billion available, the Trustees are making significant progress.
