Climate Change and Natural Resources Management in the Great Basin and Mojave Desert
A publication is now available synthesizing the outcomes of a recent climate change workshop (http://www.wr.usgs.gov/workshops/ccw2010/agenda.html) held at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Federal and state natural resources managers, scientists, and stakeholders outlined potential impacts, recommendations, and collaborative opportunities related to climate change throughout much of the Intermountain West. The report, entitled “Natural resource mitigation, adaptation and research needs related to climate change in the Great Basin and Mojave Desert,” is available on line at: http://pubs.usgs.gov/sir/2011/5103.
The workshop and publication were sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Geological Survey, the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Desert Research Institute.
