SC CSC Lead PI Promotes Climate Change Awareness
Katharine Hayhoe, Lead Principal Investigator at the Texas Tech University for the South Central Climate Science Center, is involved in several initiatives to communicate the impacts of climate change to a broad community.
Katharine participated in a field event for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space, and Technology held in Dallas by Representative Bernice Johnson. The topic of the event was climate change impacts and opportunities for Texas. The panel also included 2 experts in wind energy, one from the University of Texas and the other from industry, the chair of the Texas Medical Association, and the assistant city manager for Dallas.
Katharine will also be starring in several episodes of the new TV show about climate change, Years of Living Dangerously, and recently participated in a “ClimateChangeLIVE” broadcast “Join the Climate Conversation” to educate students.
