Science at the Pacific Islands CSC
The research direction taken by the Pacific Islands Climate Science Center (PI CSC) is guided by a Five Year Science Agenda, 2014-2018 that establishes priorities and helps ensure that the scientific program addresses priority management needs.
In developing this agenda, the CSC received advice and guidance from a Stakeholder Advisory Council (SAC). A Science Implementation Panel (SIP) will assist with independent scientific review of projects comprising the Pacific Islands CSC research program.
The PI CSC has identified four main science themes to be addressed through research:
Theme 2: Potential Effects of Changing Climate on Freshwater Resources
Theme 3: Anticipating and Addressing Change in Coastal and Low-Lying Areas
Theme 4: Forecasting Sustainability for Resource Management and Planning
