Upcoming Webinar on "Climate Change, Mountain Pine Beetles, and Whitebark Pine Forests of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem"

Buotte webinar 200x200On July 22, 2014 at 3:00 PM EDT, Northwest Climate Science Center-funded P.I., Polly Buotte, will present a webinar titled "Climate Change, Mountain Pine Beetles, and Whitebark Pine Forests of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem" as part of the National Climate Change and Wildlife Science Center webinar series.

Buotte will discuss results from a study aimed at understanding the causes of the recent mountain pine beetle outbreak, and estimating future outbreak potential given climate change. Overall, her results suggest potential for severe future mountain pine beetle outbreaks. 

Buotte and her co-P.I., Jeff Hicke are both at the University of Idaho. Other authors are Haiganoush Preisler of U.S. Forest Service and Kenneth Raffa of the University of Wisconsin.
