Third National Climate Assessment Describes Current and Future Impacts of Climate Change on U.S.
The Third National Climate Assessment (NCA) provides a comprehensive summary of climate change impacts on the U.S., now and in the future. The report includes observed trends and projected future conditions of climate change in the United States, as well as information on climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The North Central Climate Science Center (NC CSC) was pleased to support some of the work for the Great Plains chapter and technical report for the NCA. NC CSC scientists Dennis Ojima and Shannon McNeeley were authors on the Great Plains and Adaptation chapters, respectively. The NC CSC will use information from the 2013 NCA national report and Great Plains regional report as base line information on observed changes, the current status, and anticipated trends in climate. Then, as the NC CSC science agenda is implemented, it will look to contribute and coordinate with ongoing assessment activities and future assessments.
