New Report on Science Needs for the Alaska Region
In April 2011 the Alaska Climate Science Center (AK CSC) co-sponsored a workshop on shared science needs within the Western Alaska LCC (WALCC). Results from that workshop are now available at http://www.arcus.org/western-alaska-lcc/spring-workshop-2011/report. This report identifies critical research, monitoring and information gaps related to resource management in the face of climate change, particularly within western Alaska. Moreover, the report lays out a series of “next steps” for use in guiding the WALCC’s science planning process, as well as for connecting to the efforts of the AK CSC and other regional partners. For more information, please contact AK CSC Director Steve Gray (firstname.lastname@example.org) or WALCC Science Coordinator Joel Reynolds (Joel_Reynolds@fws.gov).
