National Native American Economic Policy Summit

The U.S. Department of the Interiors’ Indian Affairs, Office Indian Energy and Economic Development (IEED) in collaboration with the National Congress of the American Indian (NCAI) will hold the National Native American Economic Policy Summit  May 15-17, 2007 in Phoenix, AZ.  

The purpose of the Summit is to bring key stakeholders together to generate achievable, consensus policy-recommendations that will have potential to make a real difference for tribal economies.  

Key Points of Summit:

INTERAGENCY POLICY SUMMIT
Policy makers are there to listen. You are there to be heard.

PANEL DISCUSSIONS
Are to identify federal policies that have been successful and to identify barriers that can be addressed through policy changes or enhancements.

PARTICIPANTS
Have a chance at round table, in-depth discussions with panel experts and policy makers.

WORLD CAFÉ-TUESDAY MORNING
Bring all the stakeholders together to search for solutions and to creates networks on important questions and issues of common interest.

FINAL DAY
Explore conclusions and policy decisions with tribal leaders and policy makers.

DELIVERABLES
Develop a list of policies and who/how to proceed to implementation.
