The National Conference on Child Protection and Child Welfare in Indian Country will focus on identifying the challenges and solutions to the delivery of services to our Indian children. Social Workers, educators, law enforcement personnel, tribal judges, tribal officials, and other professionals responsible for human service delivery through out Indian country should plan to attend this important conference. Agenda topics include: investigating and prosecuting child abuse in Indian Country; suicide prevention; working with families affected by methamphetamine abuse; and education's role in child protection. Special emphasis will be on developing long term collaborations between federal, private, and non-profit agencies in order to identify and fund critical children and youth services in Indian Country. The conference is co-sponsored by the Bureau of Indian Affairs Division of Human Services, the Bureau of Indian Education, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Law Enforcement Services, the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families.
