The Interagency Working Group on Coordination of Domestic Energy Development and Permitting in Alaska was established by Executive Order 13580, signed by the President on July 12, 2011, and will work to coordinate the efforts of Federal agencies responsible for overseeing the safe and responsible development of onshore and offshore energy in Alaska. The goal of the group is to improve the efficiency of the Federal government, ensuring that resource development projects in Alaska comply with health, safety, and environmental protection standards while achieving the goal of reducing our dependence on foreign oil.

Welcome from the Chair

David HayesThank you for your interest in the Interagency Working Group on Coordination of Domestic Energy Development and Permitting in Alaska. In forming this group, President Obama recognizes that federal coordination is essential for the safe, responsible, and efficient development of conventional and renewable energy resources in Alaska. Our group will look for ways that federal agencies can better work together to facilitate Alaska energy development while fulfilling our responsibilities to safety and to the environment.

Whether you are a resident of Alaska, a partner organization, or a Federal employee, we welcome you to learn more about our group, our member agencies, and the projects we impact. Your engagement is crucial to our success as we move forward to a future of safe and responsible energy development in Alaska.
