Jerrad Schendel is the Executive Director and founder of Green Development Coalition, a 501(C)3 nonprofit. His efforts strive to show how we can break down change into small achievable steps that make going green a gradual and affordable process rather than an all-or-nothing plunge.
Before moving to Las Vegas in 2008 to attend the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Mr. Schendel led youth desert clean ups in Barstow, California and co-designed a 50K race to raise money for Discovery Trails, a non-profit focused on educating youth about desert ecosystems.
While in Las Vegas, Mr. Schendel served two Americorps terms with Luz Community Development Coalition, a non-profit whose mission is to serve the Latino population. There he was able to tailor and deliver his message to the Latino community. While training youth in Leadership & Resiliency, a program dedicated to promoting civic engagement and community activism, Mr. Schendel emphasizes the importance of conservation and green initiatives as it relates to their community.
